As my new 3000 sqft garage/man cave comes together, I want to share the start to finish project with my forum friends. This project started out with a 3 acre property that needed just about everything. The 5500 sq. ft home was a mess and the property took 3 months just to clean out the trash and debris.
Here is an aerial view along with removal of 2 barns, (one over 100 years old), trees and 15 20ft containers of trash.

Nice project. I wish I had the space for a larger garage. Most of my 3 acres isn't buildable. Looking forward to watching the progress.

Darren,

Thanks for sharing the adventure with us ...

Did you get any good reusable wood out of the 100 year old barn? Some of the wood in the old barns around here is just plain beautiful ... and valuable.

A weeks worth of grading got the job done.

Did you need an CA EPA permit for the earth moving? When I lived in San Diego county there was so much red tape for something like this....I left:)

Hey Nomad. I know where we can bury all those bodies we have stored up.

I am jealous. I wish I had a barn and a tractor.

What you building with all that dirt work?

He' not building anything. He's just moving the dirt around for a while. When the police get used to seeing him move the dirt around, then he can go back to killing people and burying them there and nothing will look different.

That's quite a project but looks like a lot of progress. Wow - a 5500 SF house. I would turn about half that into garage/workshop/man cave.

I have a few candidates...

I read the subject line and thought it's about a Cobra barn built, like mine which wasn't a barn find, but a barn built!

Am I one of the candidates?

We haven't met yet, so it can still go either way ;-) Unless you were the I*** who changed lanes without indicating 23 days and 7 hours ago on my way to ...

That couldn't have been Silver. He drives with the lane line centered under his car so he won't be crossing it all the time. $er

That aside Darren does a lovely job building this home. I wonder how far it is from the next mall and bar?
